Sunny Scorches the City

Sensational actress Sunny Leone is all set to sizzle in upcoming sex-comedy Kuch Kuch Locha Hai

With her Hindi getting better by the day, confidence oozing out with every step she takes and a guarded and measured response to questions asked by hungry scribes looking for spice, Sunny Leone is feeling well and truly at home in India. The actress, who is rising in popularity among the masses in the country – thanks to her glamorous roles – is all set to the dazzle the audience in her upcoming film Kuch Kuch Locha Hai.

“I play a Bollywood actress in the film who meets a Gujarati family while shooting for a film and gets tangled in a twisted love story,” shares the actress, while on a visit to the city on Thursday.

Filmmakers have often capitalised on Sunny’s image of a sex siren and the oomph factor that she provides, in an attempt to draw in the viewers. Devang Dholakia has done exactly the same with Kuch Kuch Locha Hai, which stars Ram Kapoor in the lead opposite Sunny.

“It’s a sex-comedy so the film has lots of glamour and humour. I play a very sexy and entertaining role, while Ram does all the ‘lochas’ (Shenanigans) in the film,” quips the actress.

Sunny, who previously worked as an artiste in adult films in America, has often been stereotyped in Bollywood and is offered roles that requires to be sexy on screen. The Ragini MMS 2 actress, however, is largely unperturbed by this and says she doesn’t understand what the fuss is all about. “In America, doing sexy and glamourous roles is no big deal really and I enjoy dancing and working in Bollywood. The people here have been extremely supportive and I haven’t had any trouble at all,” explains the 33-year-old.

Kuch Kuch Locha Hai will clash with Shoojit Sircar’s highly-anticipated Piku which stars Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead, and Sunny is hopeful that the film will be able to stand out on its own.

“Well obviously I’m not Deepika Padukone or Amitabh Bachchan and I’m fairly new to the industry compared to such senior actors. However, I feel Kuch Kuch Locha Hai is funny and has a lot of elements which the audience can relate to,” she explains.

Sunny made her Tollywood debut with a cameo role in Current Theega in 2014 and the actress is hopeful of returning to the Telugu film industry.

“I had a lot of fun on the sets the last time I worked in the Telugu film and I wore a saree almost right through the cameo. I look forward to working in Tollywood again in the near future,” she adds, with a smile.

Directed by Devang Dholakia, Kuch Kuch Locha also features Evelyn Sharma in an important role and will hit screens today.
