Though Priyamani’s and Mustafa Raja relationship was not a secret, the couple preferred to have a hush-hush engagement, which took place on Friday very much at the actress’s house in Bengaluru. Priyamani revealed why she wanted to keep it simple. “This is our first step to marriage and thought it was the right time. Our family wanted us to formally solemnise our relationship and we accordingly decided. Our parents were happy and blessed us. The reason we kept it simple and private was that we had a loss in the family a month ago and we didn’t wish to make anything in a grand scale. Of course, I was taken aback and was surprised when our engagement pictures became public without even me taking a decision to officially announce it,” she says.
The couple are planning to tie the knot early next year. “We have not set the date yet and need to sit and talk about it. We will be hopefully getting married either in February or March, next year. While, Priyamani says that she will be acting after marriage, the actress is looking forward to the release of two Kannada films .
“I also have Idolle Ramayana! with Prakash Raj for which I have one day of work left. Apart from that I have a Malayalam film for which the shoot should begin by end of July,” she says.
