Actor Vijay Devarakonda says he doesn’t like to downplay his contribution and insists that one should have the self-confidence to talk about their success.
Speaking at the pre-release event of his upcoming romantic drama Arjun Reddy, the 28-year-old actor’s speech was littered with expletives.
“Self-confidence is an important element of success. I find no fault if an actor has self-possession to express his feelings, confidence about his film and stand by his words. I sincerely feel these are admirable and necessary for everyone. Many people advised me to be modest but f*** the humility,” said a candid Vijay.
The actor also asserted that he sensed the film to be realistic when director Sandeep Vanga narrated the storyline.
“In the first hearing itself, I realised that Arjun Reddy is not suitable for children. Despite our sincere efforts to convince them, the Censor Board officials went ahead and muted some words like Yem matladuthunnav raa... This has irked me a lot.
They can mute some dialogues but not the audience thoughts. I urge the viewers to dub my lines for those muted lines in theaters,” he added.
Directed by Sandeep Vanga, the film releases this Friday amid sky-high expectations owing to the stupendous success of Vijay’s Pelli Choopulu. Shalini plays the female lead.
