Gadget reviews of the week:

HOHM Mirai

HOHM Mirai is a unique IR Blaster device from Polycab which lets you control all your devices/appliances at home which have IR remote operable compatibility. The device is easy to set up and the supporting HOHM app is quick to download and sync. With support for upto 80,000 devices, the HOHM aims to cater to all needs. I set up my air-con, TV and my air purifier to sync as well as a lightbulb. Results were quick and consistent with voice commands working well too. Features like adjusting AC temp and reducing volume were very useful. The device is also very compact, works with Google Assistant and Alexa plus is easy to carry. INR 2,499.

OnePlus Nord 2T 5G

The Nord 2T 5G from OnePlus is one device I really warmed up to immediately on unboxing. From the sleek Jade Fog shade to the compact, ergonomic feel on the hand, this is a good looking, feature-filled and elegant phone. Set up is smooth and the 90Hz FHD+ AMOLED display is bright and vivid. Mediatek’s Dimensity 1300 chipset allows all apps to run seamlessly, while the phone stays cool. The camera is a delight with Sony’s IMX766 flagship sensor at the helm and OIS ensuring great shots every time. Sound output from the speakers is outstanding in this device especially for gaming and movies. 80W SUPERVOOC charging easily provided me with a day of charge in less than 20 minutes. I’m also a big fan of Oxygen OS, in this case Version 12.1 is slick yet minimal. In terms of value for money, the Nord 2T 5G is right up there among the finest this year! INR 28,999.
