Marie Curie's father was an atheist, while her mother was a catholic. Curie gave up Catholicism and became agnostic after she lost her mother and her oldest sister,   Zofia who died of typhus.  Curie graduated from high school on 12 June 1883 with a gold medal. She was a bright student as a kid. As the family did not have much money to afford for her studies,   Marie underwent depression as a result of which she took a year break and stayed with her family.

Marie Curie in December 1903 became the first woman to receive a the Nobel Prize in Physics on her research in the field of radiation along with her husband.
