Adivi Sesh made his film debut in the 2002 'Sontham' in a small guest appearance, but his main debut as an actor, director, and writer was in the 2010 supernatural 'film Karma: Do You Believe?' opposite American actress Jade Taylor. Sesh was inspired to write it after he survived a near-fatal car accident in San Francisco. Karma is the first Telugu film to be completely shot in the United States and with an all-American technical crew. (YouTube screengrab)
Adivi Sesh's Karma had its music score composed by three American music directors: Peter One (a hip-hop producer), Leland Thunes (DJ and teacher of music) and Justin Durban aka Edgen (who has scored music for Hollywood films and trailers like Harry Potter- Order of the Phoenix, Hulk and Mummy 3.) Adivi Sesh's 2016 film Kshanam, also inspired on a real incident from his life, was a super hit and he won the IIFA Award for the Best Screenplay and the Nandi Award for the Best Screenplay Writer for the movie. Adah Sharma and Anasuya Bharadwaj played supporting roles. The film was made on a Rs 3 crore budget but went on to gross Rs 10 crore, earning him the tag 'producers' favourite'. The thriller, which is about a child's kidnapping, was remade in Tamil as 'Sathya' and in Hindi as 'Baaghi 2' starring Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani. (YouTube screengrab)

Adivi Sesh's taut spy thriller 'Goodachari' (2018) directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, is considered to be one of the 'new wave' Telugu films. The story was written by Sesh in 2004 when he was in high school in the US. Goodachari is inspired by Padma Bhushan-winning Telugu star Krishna's espionage drama 'Gudachari 116'. Krishna (in picture) had acted in several spy thrillers in the 1960s to '70s. He is also the father of Mahesh Babu, one of Tollywood's biggest stars. Mahesh Babu, who always praises good work, tweeted saying he loved the film and Sesh's acting. Andhra I-T minister Nara Lokesh too is a fan of the film. Gudachari 116 was incidentally one of late Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa's best films at the start of her film career. (Photo | Facebook)
In Goodachari, Adivi Sesh played the son of a slain RAW agent, who aspires to serve the nation like his father. In our review of the film, we described it as, '...packed with many unexpected twists and an unwavering attention to detail, the film will keep you on your toes and works as a classy thriller that pulls you into its drama.' Goodachari also portrayed the chemistry between Raman Raghav-fame actress Sobhita Dhulipala and Adivi Sesh. Sobhita is known for her understated performances and experimental films and her pairing with Sesh is one of our favourites this year. The actor today on his birthday revealed on Twitter that there was a sequel to Goodachari and that scripting had begun. (Photo | Facebook)
With his 2019 film 'Evaru', which was a remake of the 2016 Spanish film 'The Invisible Guest', Sesh achieved an hattrick of 'solo hits' followed by Kshanam and Goodachari. The three movies were known for their crisp screenplay and twists to the storyline.
On the occasion of his 35th birthday, Sesh released the first look poster of his next movie 'Major'. The bilingual movie, which is produced by Sony Pictures and actor Mahesh Babu, is based on the life of 26/11 martyr Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan and is slated to release on 11th February, 2022.
