Remembering Mother Teresa on her 107th birth anniversary

Soon her work was recognised not only by the Indian Government but also internationally. Her charitable work took her various places all over the world and soon she became a  world known missionary. In 1950 her group, now called the Missionaries of Charity, received official status as a religious community within the Archdiocese of Calcutta. On 13 March 1997 Teresa resigned as head of the Missionaries of Charity, and she died on 5 September. At the time of her death  Missionaries of Charity had over 4,000 sisters and an associated brotherhood of 300 members operating 610 missions in 123 countries. ' Death is nothing else but going home to god, the bond of the love will be unbroken for all eternity'-  her thoughts on death. She will always be remembered as selfless missionary and a saint.
