On January 17, 2014, Sunanda Pushkar wife of Shashi Tharoor was found dead in room number 345 of the Leela Palace hotel in Chaanakypuri, New Delhi. A day before her death she had a spat with a Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar on Twitter. Police claimed that Sunanda was poisoned and registered a murder case in January 2015, without naming any suspect. No arrest has been made in the case yet. ( Photo | PTI)

Police investigated the case but later came to a conclusion that it was suicide. However, there were speculations that her husband Sajid Nadiadwala was responsible for her death. The 1999 box office hit Kadhalar Dhinam actor Kunal Singh was found dead on February 7, 2008. Actress Lavina Bhatia found his body hanging from the ceiling in his Mumbai apartment. Lal Bahadur shastri and the then Pakistan President Ayub Khan met in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on January 11, 1966 for a summit which was organized by Soviet OM Alexei Kosygin. Later on the same night, Shastri died of multiple heart attacks. His wife Lalita alleged that he was poisoned. The butler who served him was arrested but was later freed due to lack of evidence.
