Gas tanker skids off road near Kumta, second in 2 days

KARWAR:A fully-loaded LPG tanker skidded off the National Highway-66 (Mangaluru-Mumbai highway) in Tadekode near Kumta on Wednesday morning.

Luckily, no gas leaked and no untoward incident took place. The tanker driver suffered minor injuries.
According to Kumta police, the gas tanker belongs to Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd and it was heading to Goa from Mangaluru.

It skidded off the highway. Kumta police and fire fighters rushed to the spot and safety managers of the gas company who visited the spot confirmed there was no leakage of gas.
On Tuesday, a fully-loaded gas tanker of the same company overturned in Honnavar town.
Fortunately,  there was no gas leakage. In the last two days, this is the second incident in Uttara Kannada district. It is said negligence and rash driving of drivers are the reasons behind such incidents on the highway.
