BENGALURU: Following the I-T raid on Wednesday, Gujarat Congress MLA Shaktisinh Gohil, who is spokesperson for the group camping in Bengaluru, has sought the apex court’s intervention.
Gohil, who is also staying at Eagleton Resort, requested the court to take suo motu action and send a sitting judge to the resort. He spoke to the media.

The Congress spokesperson, who posted a video purportedly of an armed CRPF personnel inside the resort, said, “Gunmen were roaming inside the hotel lobby as if the MLAs are criminals. This is the worst kind of politics”. He said even if the I-T department had anything against Shivakumar, the timing of the raids was suspect. The minister hadn’t murdered anyone to warrant raids like this. He has been a businessman for 30 years. He added that the department could have waited for the Gujarat MLAs to return before performing their duties. “When the man who gave us shelter can be subjected to raids, then the common man will be afraid to even ask for a glass of water,” he said.

He said the BJP’s message was clear that they could initiate such action even in a state where they are not in power. “We are afraid as to how we will reach Gujarat on August 8. But the morale of the MLAs is even higher than before,” he said.
