At a modest 900 sq ft, it doesn’t quite compare with other lavish, sprawling furniture stores in the city but one look at the ware and you know that what it lacks in space it more than makes up in substance. You won’t find quantity here, but quality can be found in abundance.
As Khan explains, what sets Chizzle apart is the fact that it caters to an aware and informed customer base that is looking to acquire exceptional pieces of furniture that are unique and timeless. “Our object is to establish ourselves as niche manufacturers of products that, inarguably, represent a certain calibre of taste, class and distinction,” says Khan.
That has been the brand’s USP ever since it was set up some five years ago. “We do not believe in mass producing and provide extremely personalised services to all our clients, anyone who is passionate about her home or workplace and wants that each article of furniture should be out of the ordinary and uniquely individual can and should be our client,” she says. “The aim here is not to think short-term or transient gain; on the contrary, I am looking to establish long-term relationships, with my present and future clients,” she adds.
Chizzle also prides itself on stringent quality control in its manufacturing process—from using the most premium quality of raw materials, such as carefully selected teak wood, superior varieties of branded boards and veneers to imported hardware and the latest techniques in staining. And when this material comes into the hands of expert and experienced craftsmen, the result is there for all to see.
The brand’s ouvre is basically divided into three collections—traditional, contemporary and country. Period furniture, luxurious fabrics and deep rich colours are the foundation of the Traditional Collection. This collection features classic and timeless pieces that defy trends and are always in style. The Contemporary Collection is fresh, inventive and highly stylistic with modern pieces that combine form with function. The Country Collection exudes warmth and hominess.
