In an attempt to deliver a safe and hygienic accessibility to food, Fabcafé of Fabindia Overseas Pvt. Ltd has launched disposable meal trays made from corrugated recycled paper.
The trays can hold individual portions of 2-3 dishes and a beverage, apart from disposable cutlery, scented and sanitised wet tissues. The trays also have an eco-friendly garbage liner to ensure proper disposal.
According to Sunil Chauhan, Founder and MD Fabcafé, the idea was to give people the comfort of ordering food from the comfort of their car.
“Many are scared about visiting restaurants now. This idea is to offer them a diverse selection of dishes in a take-away meal tray. While doing this, they can listen to the music played in that particular Fabcafé as they park their car in the parking space.”
Chauhan doesn’t shy away in admitting that this initiative is an attempt to resurrect sales, as the food and beverage industry has suffered major losses in this health-and-economic crisis.
He says, “We have to experiment to stay afloat. Now, we offer regular discounts, and recently launched eight new FMCG products for our customers such as Cacao Hazelnut Spread, Super Nut Butter, Almond Biscotti, among others.”
This Park n’ Pickup facility is present at 21 Fabcafes pan India, including the seven in Delhi/NCR.
