Mahindra launches Verito

After its divorce from French auto giant Renault, Mahindra & Mahindra unveiled its all new spruced-up Logan which is now known as Verito.

Post its fall out of Renault JV which launched Logan, M&M has been working hard to bring out its own indigenous avatar of the Logan and Verito is a good answer to that. The new Verito which was recently launched is a compact sedan that sports unique exterior design and very decent interior appearance. Some of the features include high sitting car seats, easy entry inside with easy exit, fuel economy besides that the car comes with a large boot space of nearly 510 litres. The Verito had been launched initially in three engine options—1.4 L, 1.5 L & 1.6 L. Both 1.4 L and 1.6 L engines come in petrol whereas the 1.5 L engine is diesel. The Verito uses SOHC, MPFI engine that is more fuel efficient.

The 1.4 litre, 4 cylinders, 1390cc petrol engine produces a top power of 75 hp at 5500 rpm and delivers a peak torque of 110 Nm at 3000 rpm via a five speed manual gearbox. The higher end 1.5 litre, 4 cylinder, 1461cc diesel engine belts out maximum power of 65 hp at 4000 rpm and returns maximum torque of 160 Nm at 2000 rpm through a five speed manual transmission as well.

At the launch of the Verito, Pravin Shah, Chief Executive, Automotive Division, M&M, said, “The new look Verito sedan has been created in line with the Mahindra tradition of giving more value to customers. It enhances value by being more stylish and contemporary, feature packed and with convenient ergonomics. I am sure that the Verito will heighten its appeal not only among its core customers but also among people looking at options for a more stylish sedan.”

The Verito is a wide-body car and has a 172mm of ground clearance that allows it to run off-road quite comfortably. Priced Rs 5.27-7.14 lakh ex -showroom, the new Verito has definitely the edge and some class leading features which will help Mahindra to reinstate its status of an all round auto manufacturer.
