Ace of 'Think' operations

In 1992, the world of computers was chunky and unwieldy. Into such a world, IBM released a sleek black box, which was called at the time, “one of the first credible computers of that size”, and called it the ThinkPad. In the 20 years since the launch, the ThinkPad went through many iterations and innovations. It also passed from the hands of IBM to the Chinese multinational Lenovo. This year, on the 20th  anniversary, Lenovo is coming up with the latest iteration of ThinkPad carrying Windows 8. And the man in charge of this iconic brand is Dilip Bhatia. Bhatia, the Vice-President and General Manager of the ThinkPad Business, Lenovo Worldwide, has a Computer Engineering degree from the North Carolina State University, and an MBA from the University of North Carolina.

He started work at IBM and has worked in different positions at both IBM and Lenovo. After working for four years as an Executive Director of Marketing for ThinkCentre Commercial Desktop in Beijing, and as a Vice President in charge of marketing at ThinkPad, Bhatia is now the Vice President in charge of ThinkPad Business Unit with responsibility for global ThinkPad offerings. In this role, he manages the marketing, operations and development teams that make ThinkPads for large businesses, education and government sectors. In the future if you find yourself using Windows 8 on a ThinkPad and enjoying it, you know whom to thank.
