BENGALURU: Indian IT bellwether Wipro Ltd will jointly develop software for smart and connected devices with German firm Software AG.

"The software solution will enable enterprises to understand how customers use their products in real-time and through streaming analytics," the company said in a statement here Tuesday.

The joint platform will also provide real-time actionable intelligence for the Internet of Things (IoT) market.

"We have developed an analytics-based IoT solution named 'Wipro Looking Glass' to address the huge market potential created by streaming analytics in conjunction with IoT and other emerging technologies," said Wipro vice-president Alan Atkins.

The platform can also be scaled in high speed and big data environments, in diverse industries, including financial services, manufacturing, supply chain and telecom.

"Through leading-edge data management technologies, our platform offers unlimited scalability to the enterprise, as it can be run on-premise and hosted in a single cloud or multiple clouds," he said.

The framework allows for flexible and rapid development of customer specific solutions at a lower cost and reduced risk. With cloud hosted analytics and algorithms that are accessible by digital sensors and devices, actions like process updates, event responses and machine behaviour can be implemented.

"Analytics and visualisation form important elements of this value proposition and our partnership with Software compliments the other offerings in the framework that we enable for the customers," Atkins added.
