CJP leader Ashutosh Ranka warned that "millions more" would join if the government failed to meet their demands, including the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged NEET irregularities.
Heavy security and barricading remain in place around Parliament House, Rafi Marg and other parts of Delhi. Police have registered six FIRs in connection with the violence and vandalism during Monday's protest march and are probing an alleged larger criminal conspiracy.
Meanwhile, Congress units staged protests across several states against the police lathi-charge on students and the detention of Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and other opposition leaders. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav was also detained during a protest outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence.
Separately, activist Sonam Wangchuk, who remains on an indefinite fast, was shifted to Medanta Hospital following Delhi High Court orders. Union ministers Jitendra Singh and J P Nadda visited the hospital to enquire about his health.
The opposition MPs will hold a protest outside Makar Dwar of Parliament on Wednesday, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. This comes after the Congress and Samajwadi Party leaders held a protest outside the Prime Minister’s residence on Tuesday.
Today’s protests have been scheduled for around 10:30 am, during which opposition leaders will also raise concerns over the irregularities in the NEET UG examination. The Opposition will also hold a protest against the police action taken on July 20 on students.
An FIR has been registered after a video showed a Rapid Action Force (RAF) jawan being chased and assaulted allegedly by a group of protesters during the CJP’s march, police said on Wednesday. The video showed the RAF jawan being surrounded, chased and thrashed by several protesters during the CJP’s march towards Parliament on Monday. Police said the FIR had been registered in connection with the incident and an investigation has been launched to identify those involved, PTI news agency reported.
CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka on Wednesday claimed the protest at Jantar Mantar was “the biggest movement in India's post-independence history.”
He said the protest march on July 20 “was a trailer”, adding that “millions more will come to Delhi” if the government does not agree to the students" demands.
"The government really needs to get its act together otherwise the youth of this country is going to take them down very badly,” Ranka told ANI news agency.

The Centre has ordered the deployment of 20 additional companies of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Delhi to bolster security, officials said on Wednesday.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued the deployment order on Tuesday night, following which the CRPF personnel began being airlifted from Kolkata to the national capital.
A total of 20 CRPF companies are being airlifted from Kolkata to be deployed in Delhi to strengthen the law and order in view of the CJP protests, demonstrations by various political parties and the ongoing Parliament session, official sources in the security establishment told PTI.
TMC chairperson and former West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday slammed police action against student protesters during the CJP protest march on Monday.
“The police atrocities on our youth in Delhi are unacceptable. Shame on the Union government. The All India Trinamool Congress fully supports the sit-down protest by the Opposition today near Akbar Road. Our full solidarity,” Banerjee said in a post
BJP's Ravi Shankar Prasad said it was “irresponsible.” for the Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi to protest outside the Prime Minister's residence,
“He is sitting on a dharna at the gate of the Prime Minister's residence. His father (Rajiv Gandhi) was the Prime Minister, his grandmother Indira Gandhi was the Prime Minister, and his great-grandfather Jawaharlal Nehru was also the Prime Minister of India. He, of all people, should know the dignity and sanctity of the Prime Minister's residence. Despite this, the kind of irresponsible behaviour he has displayed is highly condemnable,” Prasad said, according to ANI news agency.
Sloganeering continued at Delhi's Jantar Mantar on Wednesday despite persistent rain, as protesters remained gathered to press their demands.
DMK chief and former Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin on Wednesday backed the student protests over alleged NEET irregularities, calling for the examination to be scrapped.
“The students' protest in New Delhi has now captured the attention of the entire country. We were the first to warn that NEET was designed to enable large-scale irregularities. That is why the DMK has opposed NEET from the very beginning, consistently pointing out the dangers it poses,” Stalin said in a post on X.
“Tamil Nadu, which led India in defending social justice and paved the way for the First Constitutional Amendment, has only one demand: Abolition of NEET. More than any other demand, the abolition of NEET must be at the heart of these protests,” Stalin said, adding that scrapping the exam was the only “lasting solution to all these problems.”

Wearing black clothes, leaders of several Opposition parties on Wednesday staged a protest outside Parliament to express solidarity with students protesting against the NEET paper leak issue.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to urgently list a petition challenging police action against students during the Cockroach Janata Party's (CJP) Parliament march, telling the petitioners, "Don't waste our time," and asking them to approach the Delhi High Court instead.
A bench headed by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant declined the request for an immediate hearing after senior advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for the petitioners, sought urgent intervention over the alleged police action against student protesters during Monday's march to Parliament.
When Sibal pressed for an urgent listing, the bench refused, observing that the Delhi High Court was already seized of similar issues. "Don't waste our time. Go to the High Court," the bench said, according to LiveLaw.
The government on Wednesday said it is ready for discussions on the NEET paper leak, however, the Congress insisted on Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation,
Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal has demanded that the list of police personnel and protesters injured during the march to Parliament be made public and expressed apprehension that students may be turned into accused in FIRs, alleging that this happened during the 2020 Delhi riots as well.
Sibal said children should raise their voice peacefully in every city of the country, so that governments listen to them.
He also lashed out at Union minister JP Nadda over his assertion that a proposal came from the protesters to hold talks with the government and asked that when “our fasting children’s proposals” were known to all, was the government waiting to tear gas and lathi-charge them.

CJP convenor Abhijeet Dipke on Wednesday said the student protesters would remain at the Jantar Mantar till union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns.
“Till the time there is resignation (of Dharmendra Pradhan), we will keep sitting here. The government will have to come here to talk,” Dipke said at the Jantar Mantar.
CJP convenor Abhijeet Dipke on Wednesday said that activist Sonam Wangchuk had been on an indefinite fast for 25 days, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi had not posted anything for him.
“Sonam Wangchuk has been on hunger strike for 25 days. His condition is bad. PM has not tweeted for him. This is an inhuman government,” Dipke said. He added that the government was “leave arrogance” and accept the CJP's demands.
The Cockroach Janta Party has said it will issue a helpline number for protesters who have been detained, and said lawyers assisting them were collecting evidence of police action against the students. The CJP has urged those who have videos of police action to share it with them.
The Cockroach Janta Party has asked people at Jantar Mantar to stick to shouting four specific slogans in order to avoid giving chance to those looking to “make a narrative”. The four slogans “allowed” are: ’Bharat Mata ki Jai’; ‘Inquilab Zindabad’; ‘Jai Bheem’; ‘Dharmendra Pradhan Istifa do’.
“They are looking to make narrative, we will not tolerate any negative slogans”, CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said at Jantar Mantar.

The United Doctor's Front has written to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking the replacement of NTA with an independent body through an Act of Parliament, its chairperson Dr Lakshya Mittal said.
CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka on Wednesday said the students' protest had “grown 100 times”, adding that it was a “decisive battle.”
“These people thought that they will get the students thrashed on July 20, protest will end but now it has grown 100 times bigger. They thought they will not allow us to put up tent and the protest will end. But it has become bigger. It is a decisive battle," Ranka said.
“This battle is to end the arrogance of the government. What Delhi Police did that day, people across the world saw it. They should have at least worn name badges to thrash students,” he said, adding that they would decided what happens next.
The police in Patna used tear gas and water cannons on Wednesday against AISA activists protesting over alleged irregularities in NEET examination, PTI news agency reported.
A delegation of opposition MPs will visit Sonam Wangchuk at Gurugram's Medanta Hospital to persuade him to end his 25-day fast, and assure him that issues relating to the alleged irregularities in competitive examinations and accountability in the education sector will be raised in Parliament, sources said on Tuesday.
The delegation will urge the activist, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike for the last 25 days, to end his fast after assuring him that the Opposition will take up the matter inside Parliament, the sources said.
Congress Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Tankha, TMC Rajya Sabha MP Sagarika Ghose and CPI(M) Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas will be among those who meet Wangchuk, according to the sources.
Earlier, Wangchuk said he would end his fast if Members of Parliament and leaders of political parties assured him that the issue of accountability in the education sector would be taken up during the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
However, following the police crackdown on protestors during the Cockroach Janta Party's "Sansad Chalo" march, the activist announced that he would continue his fast until such an assurance was given.
Wangchuk, who was forcefully shifted by the Delhi Police to Safdarjung Hospital on July 18, has been moved to Medanta Hospital following a Delhi High Court order.
CJP chief Abhijeet Dipke urged Sonam Wangchuk to end his hunger strike but asserted that the protest at Jantar Mantar would continue.
"We request Sonam sir to end his hunger-strike. The peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar will continue until our demands are met. Dharmendra Pradhan Must Resign!" Dipke wrote on Instagram, sharing a video.
The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on Wednesday condemned the police action on students and lawyers, and called for an impartial and time-bound inquiry into the incident.
The SCBA headed by its president and senior advocate Vikas Singh, in its resolution, said the police action left several students and members of the legal fraternity, including members of the Association, injured.
"The use of excessive and disproportionate force against peaceful students and members of the Bar is deeply disturbing and wholly unacceptable in a democratic society," the resolution issued by SCBA secretary Pragya Baghel said.
The bar body urged authorities concerned to conduct an immediate, impartial and time-bound inquiry into the incident, identify those responsible for the alleged excessive use of force, and initiate appropriate action in accordance with law.
It also called on the authorities to ensure proper medical treatment and assistance for all injured students and members of the legal fraternity, while taking necessary steps to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
"The Association stands in solidarity with all those injured and reiterates its commitment to protecting constitutional rights, human dignity and the rule of law," it said.
On Monday, thousands of students, demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak issue and irregularities in the exam system, attempted to march to Parliament but were pushed back with teargas and batons.
A 21-year-old woman, who was critically injured during the police action at the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) July 20 protest, has been taken off ventilator support, with doctors at Dr Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital on Wednesday saying she is now conscious, breathing on her own and responding appropriately to commands.
Sakshi, a Chhattarpur Extension resident, sustained injuries to her face, chest and neck and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). She was at the protest on Monday with her cousin, who also got injured in her leg.
The patient is conscious, responding appropriately to commands, and her MRI scans of the brain and spine are normal, hospital authorities said on Wednesday.
Her clinical condition has been showing steady improvement since the initiation of treatment, and she continues to receive comprehensive medical care under the close supervision of the treating team, the authorities said.
She is currently the only patient admitted to RML Hospital in connection with the incident, with all necessary treatment and continuous monitoring being provided, they added.
The protest on Monday, organised by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), witnessed thousands marching towards Parliament, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET examination paper leak.
The police resorted to tear gas and lathi charge to disperse protesters after they breached security barricades near Jantar Mantar.
The Delhi High Court on Wednesday issued notices to the Centre and Delhi Police on petitions alleging excessive force against protesters during the July 20 march to Parliament.
The court also directed the authorities to preserve all CCTV footage, body-camera recordings and other digital evidence related to the incident in accordance with established SOPs.
The matter has been posted for hearing on September 11.
Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday accused the Centre of failing India's students, claiming that 152 examination paper leaks had taken place over the past decade without a single conviction. He also criticised the police action against protesters and demanded the removal of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Addressing a press conference, Gandhi questioned the police action against students during the July 20 protest march, called for those responsible for the assault on protesters to be held accountable, and urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to apologise to the students.
Gandhi said the students had raised three key demands and that the Congress stood firmly behind them, calling it "completely legitimate".
The Delhi High Court on Wednesday dismissed a public interest litigation (PIL) against the forcible shifting of activist Sonam Wangchuk from Jantar Mantar protest site to Safdarjung Hospital on the 21st day of his hunger strike over alleged examination irregularities.
A bench of Chief Justice DK Upadhyaya and Justice Tejas Karia observed that the issue of the educationist's hospitalisation at Safdarjung Hospital was earlier raised by his wife before the high court and the matter was "disposed of to their satisfaction".
Asserting that the concerns and prayers in relation to the incident cannot be permitted to be raised again, the bench asked petitioner Shakeel Abbas to lodge an FIR in case he was still aggrieved.
"Since an FIR is sought to be lodged in relation to a reportedly solitary incident, it is always open for the petitioner to take recourse to 173 of BNSS," the court said.
"We are not inclined to entertain the writ and it is thus dismissed," concluded the court.
Assuring Sonam Wangchuk that his message had resonated across the country and would now be raised in Parliament, a delegation of opposition MPs urged the activist to end his indefinite hunger strike that entered its 25th day on Wednesday over alleged examination irregularities.
The delegation, which included Congress MP Vivek Tankha, TMC MP Sagarika Ghose and CPI(M) MP John Brittas, met Wangchuk and his wife Gitanjali J Angmo at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram.
They appealed to the activist to withdraw his indefinite fast, saying the struggle for a fair and transparent examination system had become a national cause.
Wangchuk has been on an indefinite hunger strike for the last 25 days in support of students demanding accountability over alleged examination irregularities.
"The nation, especially its youth, needs your wisdom and guidance far more than your sacrifice... Just as the Union Territory of Ladakh needs Sonam Wangchuk, India needs you too... not in suffering, but in service, serving those causes that will benefit generations to come. The country needs you," the MPs said in a letter handed over to the activist.
In their letter, the MPs said Wangchuk's "selfless commitment to the cause of India's youth" and his advocacy of "a fair, transparent and accountable examination system" had inspired millions across the country.
"We, as Members of Parliament, request you to kindly withdraw your fast, while we take forward in Parliament the national mission and debate on educational reforms and the future of India's youth, so passionately espoused by you," they said.
Activist Sonam Wangchuk on Wednesday said he would end his indefinite fast if the Centre assured that no punitive action would be taken against students protesting over the alleged NEET paper leak.
"Once the assurance from govt come I will also appeal to the peacefully protesting students to halt the movement for now and enter into dialogue with the government," Wangchuk wrote on X while sharing the letter.
In a letter addressed to Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh, Wangchuk said he had also sought assurances on compensation for the families of students who died by suicide after the paper leak, a meaningful discussion in Parliament, and accountability, including consideration of the Education Minister's resignation.

Former BJP leader Annamalai has hit out at the Union Government over its handling of the NEET controversy, questioning why there has been zero accountability despite repeated paper leaks.
Annamalai, who now heads the "We the Leaders" movement, criticized the Centre's delayed response to student demonstrations across the country.
"Why was meaningful engagement delayed until the protest had escalated to a flashpoint? What kept you waiting?"
Annamalai noted that while he historically supported NEET for providing underprivileged students a level playing field, the fact that the NEET UG paper has leaked thrice in five years demonstrates a systemic failure.
He stated that the lack of accountability forced students to take to the streets out of sheer desperation. He urged the BJP-led Centre to immediately engage in transparent dialogue and restore faith in national educational institutions.
Annamalai advised the student leaders to remain vigilant and avoid letting "vested interests" hijack their movement to serve unrelated political agendas.
The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Wednesday said it was ready to hold talks with the Centre but insisted that the meeting take place at Jantar Mantar or another neutral venue, instead of a minister's residence.
The group said it had declined an invitation to meet Union Minister JP Nadda at his residence and reiterated its key demands, including Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation and a guarantee that no further action would be taken against peaceful protesters.
"We refused to go to anyone's house or office. The people's court is here. Ministers should come among the people. If they want to talk, the talks should be held at Jantar Mantar," CJP Spokesperson Saurav Das said.
An assistant commissioner of police was injured in a stone pelting incident by protesters near Jantar Mantar on Wednesday evening, police said.
He was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where he was undergoing treatment. His condition is stated to be stable, police said.
ACP Jai Prakash, posted in Punjabi Bagh, sustained a forehead injury around 4.30 pm while on duty when protesters allegedly resorted to stone-pelting, a police statement said.
Police said a stone struck the officer on the forehead, leaving him injured.
Police appealed to the protesters to maintain peace and cooperate with law enforcement personnel.
Union minister Chirag Paswan on Wednesday said the government was open to dialogue with students protesting over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations, but accused the opposition, particularly the Congress, of politicising the issue.
Paswan said Prime Minister Narendra Modi remained deeply concerned about the welfare of students, youth and farmers, and all channels of communication with protesters had been kept open. "The government has kept all channels for dialogue open. I believe communication can find all solutions; so I am hopeful soon we will have a common platform where we can discuss and come to a conclusion," he said.
He said the government was engaging with students and alleged that the Congress was trying to derive political mileage from the protests.
"We are having dialogues with the students. Congress is doing politics on it.
"The way Rahul ji and Priyanka ji were at the Prime Minister's residence... some places are sensitive, especially when Section 163 is imposed. What if some anti-social element comes?" he said.
Referring to the recent protests in the national capital, Paswan alleged that anti-social elements had infiltrated the demonstrations.
"We have also seen the visuals where constables are being beaten and police officers are being attacked. Surely these are not students doing this. Under their guise, some anti-social elements come in between," he said.
Union Health Minister and senior BJP leader JP Nadda on Wednesday said the Centre was ready for a comprehensive discussion on the paper leak issue in Parliament, asserting that the Narendra Modi government was a "responsible and responsive" administration prepared to address all concerns on the floor of the House.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters, Nadda accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of attempting to derive political mileage from the paper leak issue and urged political parties not to politicise student protests.
"The government is ready for a comprehensive discussion on the paper leak issue in Parliament. We are ready to discuss all issues on the floor of Parliament," Nadda said.
"The issue of paper leak is a matter of investigation, and for this, the government will place answers on every point before the public," he said.
In a video message shared on X, Sonam Wangchuk said that he is still alive and doing well but he has lost over 11kgs as his fast entered Day 25.
"I want to appreciate all the students who remained peaceful even after getting beaten, and provoked. My heart mealted seeing this."
"Since they were attacked so brutally, I had decided to continue my fast. Many leaders have come to me and requested that I end my fast and get back to serving the nation. I want to do it too," he said.
"I request the government to not use any more force on the protestors. I also want a guarantee that these children won't be harassed further by police or FIRs. If I get that assurity, I will respct everyone who has requested me and end my fast. But if I dont get that assurance, unfortunately I have to continue my fast," he added.

At least two assistant commissioners of police (ACPs) and four personnel were injured in a stone-pelting incident by protesters near Jantar Mantar on Wednesday evening, police sources said.
They said that many "anti-social" elements have entered the protest site.
"They are not even listening to the organisers (CJP) and are pelting stones at personnel," they added.
The injured personnel were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. The condition of all the police officers is stated to be stable, the police source said.
In the first incident, ACP Jai Prakash, posted in Punjabi Bagh, sustained an injury on his forehead around 4.30 pm while on duty when protesters allegedly resorted to stone-pelting, a police statement said.
The sources said that another stone-pelting incident took place later in the day in which another ACP and at least four police personnel were injured.
