Soon you won’t have to grab that ‘Gap’ sweatshirt at a duty-free on your way back from a trip. American apparel brand is setting shops in India by the end of May. Delhi will be first to get a Gap store. Mumbai will follow suit. Gap has partnered with Indian textile company Arvind Lifestyle to open 40 franchise-operated stores in the coming years. Starting with summer 2015 collection for adults, kids and babies, the brand will retail its entire collection of apparels and accessories in India, refreshing it every season. For a long time, India has been among its top ten global sourcing locations. It’s time we become the consumers.
