Lounge and No Bar

How much more comfortable can lounging on a sunny deck really get? Time to be surprised. The Remmus lounge chair that is designed by five-time Good Design Award winner Tapio Anttila was restricted to yachts up until now. The clear- lined, Scandinavian style Remmus can be automatically lighted by atmospheric LED technology. The advanced 3DEA padding technology ensures the perfect climate control and maximum comfort. Should you require a refreshment, there’s a button you can press and summon a waiter, or anybody kind enough to fetch you a drink. Plug in your mobile or iPod through bluetooth, stash your beer cans in the cool box, and stow your precious little things in the waterproof locker. May you never ever have to get out of this one.

Coco Jumbo

Coco Chanel, wherever you are, you’re sparkling bright as a star over us. In comes a collection of five rings and a bracelet cuff in 18-karat yellow and white gold. Engraved into gold with what is called the matelassé, or the quilted pattern, is the all-new Coco Crush collection. The pattern is commonly used in the equestrian world, where it is specifically used to make saddles more comfortable for their riders. Incidentally, Chanel used the quilted motif for the first time in 1920 and soon became one of Gabrielle Chanel’s favourite materials. Several years later, they are revisiting this fluid pattern with the scalloped edges and refined lines that make mild patterns on white and yellow gold. These are priced between $2,150 and $3,500.

The Time is Ripe

The sight of the Louis Vuitton monogram etched out on a sharp-edged trunk might be the first image that comes to mind when anybody speaks of luxury and travel in the same breath. At a time when borders are blurring, the company has come out with the Escale Worldtime, a complication watch with repetition minutes and worldtime features. With its pink gold bezel, horns, crown and titanium middle case, the watch shines beautifully. Much like a small trunk containing a movement of great rarity, the silhouette of the case is inspired by the history of the house and the art of travel, according to Louis Vuitton, with its four horns recalling the corners of the famous trunks. The colourful large outer disc has two rings and bears the initials of 24 cities worldwide. It turns on demand for setting the base city, positioning noon beneath the yellow arrow. Time to put the world on the centre of your wrist.
