The ongoing 10th India Habitat Film Festival (May 8 to 17) brings the best of pan-Indian cinema to the Capital with its diverse offering of 48 films in 13 languages. The screenings include 19 award-winning movies and are accompanied by a range of activities such as a book discussion (May 14) and a 10-day exhibition (May 8 to 17) titled Rhythm, Raga and Melody in collaboration with the National Film Archive of India, Pune.
The 10-day festival is also showcasing a retrospective on actor-director Kamal Haasan’s work, including some classics such as Ek Duje Ke Liye, Sadma, Chachi 420, Hey Ram. Besides regional films, several award-winning children’s movies are also part of the festival’s programme. All screenings are followed by Q&A and this year the festival has also invited actors/directors to interact with the audience. These include Kamal Haasan, Shoojit Sircar, Abhishek Jain, Anant Mahadevan and Kalki Koechlin.
