Good doctor takes on real enemy of the people

Enemy of the people, a play that highlights the issue of public health and the politics around it, will be staged at Epicentre Cultural Centre in Gurgaon on June 17.

Dr Shiv Nath has discovered that the new baths built in his town are infected with a deadly disease and instructs the authorities to repair or close the hot spring baths.

The mayor, who is also his brother, rejects the report because it will cause a heavy financial burden on the town. Shiv Nath tries to take up his case to the people, but the mayor intercedes and explains to the people about the huge costs involved. In a public meeting, the mayor has his brother declared an enemy of the people. The doctor decides to leave the town, but at the last minute comes to the realisation that he must stay back and fight for the thing he believes to be right. The play is directed by Mahesh Vashistha.

Tickets priced at Rs 200 and Rs 350 are available at the venue.

Suitable for 15 years & above.
