It was three days ago that actor Jayasurya got injured during the shoot of Captain, a biopic on football player V P Satyan. However, the latest update is that the actor, who had a ligament tear, will be back on sets this  Sunday.

According to director Prajesh Sen, the actor sustained only a minor injury. “It was a minor injury. He already had a tear on his ligament. We were shooting a Santosh Trophy sequence.

Jayasurya had insisted on doing it himself and not relying on a dupe. It was a fast-paced sequence and Jayasurya clashed with actor Deepak Parambol and sustained an injury. The doctors advised him a week’s rest. However, he is recuperating and would join the shoot on Sunday,” he added.

The director added that they had to stall the shooting for over 10 days as the rest of the sequences were shot and only portions involving Jayasurya remained. The actor who plays the deceased footballer V P Sathyan in the movie had undergone training to play the role.

Meanwhile, Prajesh Sen said the movie will portray the life of the football star as it is, including his death scenes. “We don’t intend to change or rewrite history. We will portray’s V P Sathyan’s life as it is. If there is any particular reason or cause for his death, we will feature that too,” he said.
