NEW DELHI: A sports teacher was allegedly beaten with by an iron rod by a class ninth student in Noida. Police say the boy was upset after the teacher caught him cheating during an exam and he was failed.

Police say the boy and his father even approached the school Principal for leniency, but when refused, the angry student took on the teacher.

The student has been absconding after the incident.
