LUCKNOW: Outgoing Uttar Pradesh BJP President Surya Pratap Sahi has stated that “no money was taken from tainted former minister Babu Singh Kushwaha”.
“I did not take money from the National Rural Health Mission scam tainted former minister Babu Singh Kushwaha. It was the decision of the party’s central leadership to induct him. I was invited to the press conference just two hours before his joining,” said Sahi.
The former BJP state president was addressing the party workers, who gathered to welcome new Uttar Pradesh party chief Laxmi Kant Bajpai at the party headquarters here on Monday.
The revelation has put the new party president in an awkward position, as he has to explain the logic behind the decision to induct Kushwaha into the party, while defending the central leadership.
