NEW DELHI: Congress's chief spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi has opted out of party briefings for now after finding himself in a controversy over a CD, which he claims has been doctored to embarrass him. Singhvi has been taken off the duty roster.

While the official reason being given for Singhvi opting out of party briefings is that he is unwell, CNN-IBN has learnt that Singhvi has opted out to avoid any questions on the CD controversy.

Singhvi has already obtained an injunction against the telecast of the CD and a former driver of the lawyer politician has claimed that he was behind its dissemination.

Singhvi said he attended the Parliamentary Committee meeting on Tuesday.
