A minor fire broke out in the North Block that flanks the Rashtrapati Bhavan here Saturday evening. However, no causality or major damage was reported.

North Block houses offices of the ministries of defence, finance and home affairs. Nine fire tenders quickly extinguished the fire.

The cause of the fire was reportedly an electrical short-circuit in an air conditioner on the ground floor, police said.
