New Manipur BJP unit president

Senior BJP leader Th Chaoba Singh has been unanimously elected new president of the party's Manipur unit, party sources said today.

Sources said Singh, a former union minister of state for youth affairs and sports, was the lone candidate for the post and declared elected during an executive meeting of the party in presence of party's north east charge P Chandrasekhar Rao here yesterday.

Soon after election, Singh said his party would launch a strategic programme to fight corruption in Manipur and to gear up for the forthcoming 2014 Lok Sabha Polls.
