2G: SC to pronounce verdict on Chidambaram today

A division bench will pronounce ruling on petition filed seeking investigation against Home Minister in spectrum case.

NEWDELHI: The Supreme Court will pronounce its two judgments on two petitions which sought directions to the authorities concerned to investigate into the alleged role of Home Minister P Chidambaram in the 2G spectrum scam and for cancellation of the 122 radio wave licences that had been granted during the tenure of former Telecom Minister A Raja.  A Bench comprising Justice G S Singhvi and Justice A K G  Ganguly will pronounce the verdicts on the petition filed  seeking an investigation against the Union Home Minister and for cancellation of spectrum licences issued on October 10 and March 17 last year.

The Bench is likely to pronounce unanimous judgments on both the petitions. The petitions on both the issues were filed by the NGO Centre for Public Interest Litigation (CIPL) and Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy.
