Though Team Anna’s protests have attracted thousands of people in the past, the crowd seems to be keeping away from the indefinite strike launched by it at Jantar Mantar here.

Team Anna members Manish Sisodia, Arvind Kejriwal and Gopal Rai sat on a indefinite fast on Wednesday demanding that a special investigation team (SIT) be appointed for an ‘independent probe’ against 14 union ministers, including the Prime Minister.  Shifting from the government-attacking mode, Anna on Thursday congratulated new President Pranab Mukherjee.

“I congratulate Mukherjee on becoming the First Citizen of India. I wish him luck,” said Anna, who has plans to join the hunger strike from Sunday.

This was in contrast to the position of Kejriwal, who has been making various allegations against Pranab.

Symbolically covering Pranab’s photograph with a cloth, Kejriwal had alleged that by electing him as the President, the Congress has covered all the allegations against him, as the President had immunity from investigation.
