CHANDIGARH: The Congress made early gains in Punjab Tuesday as vote count began for 117 assembly seats.

The Congress was leading on three seats while the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal was leading in one seat, officials said.

Counting of votes started in Punjab at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
