MUMBAI: In one of the biggest disproportionate assets case in Maharashtra, a deputy collector was found to have amassed wealth to the tune of `118.39 crore.
The wealth allegedly amassed by deputy collector Nitish Thakur even surpasses former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati’s recently declared asset of `111.64 crore by `6.75 lakh.
As per Anti-corruption Bureau’s calculation, Thakur’s wealth is disproportionate by a staggering margin of 65854.67 per cent in comparison to his known source of income.
Thakur had joined state government service as a Tahsildar in 1988 and allegedly amassed the properties in his 22 years of service.
