LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh Governor B L Joshi extended the tenure of the serving State Lokayukta Justice (Retd)  N  K  Mehrotra by two years. It is the first time in the history of the country that a Lokayukta has been reappointed.

The decision was taken soon after Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav met the Governor at Raj Bhawan on Thursday.

The Chief Minister met the Governor to invite him for the birth anniversary celebrations of ideologue Ram Manohar Lohia, organised by the state government on March 23.
