Ending their two-day hunger strike, workers sacked from Maruti's Manesar plant and their family members along with other trade union leaders Thursday announced that they will not celebrate Diwali and would lay siege to Haryana industry minister's house.

Workers from various trade unions organised a rally and a march through Sadar Bazar and Railway Road here Thursday, demanding reinstatement of 546 workers.

The workers will lay siege to the house of Haryana Industry Minister Randeep Surjewala in Kaithal Nov 12.

Jai Bhagwan, a Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) leader told IANS: "Workers and their families will not celebrate Diwali this year. They will mark it as 'Black Diwali'."

After violence July 18 at the Manesar plant in which one senior executive was killed, the company terminated the services of 546 workers.
