President Pranab Mukherjee had rejected the mercyplea of Ajmal Amir Kasab, the lone Pakistani terrorist involved in the 2008Mumbai terror attacks who was hanged Wednesday morning, a few weeks ago, saidan official.
"The president had rejected the mercy petition of Kasaba few weeks back. I can't give you the exact date," Venu Rajamony, thepresident's press secretary, told IANS.
Kasab, who was hanged at Pune's Yerawada Jail Wednesdaymorning, was amongst the 10 Pakistani terrorists who sneaked into Mumbai on thenight of Nov 26, 2008.
The Nov 26-29, 2008 terror siege had killed 166 people andinjured 300.
