Sharad Pawar apologises for Maharashtra Deputy CM's remarks

NCP chief Sharad Pawar todayapologised for the controversial comments made by MaharashtraDeputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, terming them as "unwanted".

"I duly apologise on the behalf of Deputy CM ofMaharashtra for the unwanted comment that he had made," theUnion Agriculture Minister said on micro-blogging siteTwitter.

Ajit Pawar's remarks at a rally near Pune over theweekend that "if there is no water in the dam...should weurinate into it?" mocking farmers in drought-hit Maharashtrahad kicked up a controversy.

The NCP leader had followed up this comment laced withcrass humour with another remark poking fun at load-sheddingin the state saying, "I have noticed that more children arebeing born since the lights go off at night. There is no otherwork left then."
