Jat protesters barge into Home Minister's residence

Thirteen police officers were suspended after protesters barged into the residence of Sushilkumar Shinde in New Delhi Wednesday evening, police said.

Thirteen police officer were suspended after protesters barged into the residence of Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde here Wednesday evening, police said.

"At least 13 police officers have been suspended for dereliction of duty," police said.

Around 200 Jat protestors gathered outside Shinde's bungalow No.2 at Krishna Menon Marg around 4.30 p.m. and raised slogans for reservations.

"About three to four protesters barged into the minister's house. They also damaged the front gate," said a police officer.

The protesters fled when police arrived.

Over 50 police personnel have been deputed at the spot.

Police detained some protesters for breach of security.
