Apex court gets two more judges

Two more judges have been sworn in on Friday in the Supreme Court taking its strength to 30.   Chief Justice Altamas Kabir administered the oath of office and secrecy to Justice Arjan Kumar Sikri and Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde.

 Justice Sikri was the Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court and   Justice Bobde was the Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court. The swearing-in took place at the CJI Court. the ceremony was attended by other judges of the apex court, top law officers and senior advocates.

The families of the two judges were also present at the ceremony. Justice Sikri enrolled himself as an advocate in July 1977 with the Bar Council of Delhi and was designated as senior advocate by the Delhi High Court in September 1997.

Justice Bobde enrolled himself as an advocate in September 1978 and practised at the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court. He was designated as a senior advocate in the year

1998.
