The Union Home Ministry confirmed that the blast outside the BJP office in Bangalore on Wednesday was a terror attack in which an Improvised Explosive Device was used.
“It is too much of a coincidence that it was the 3rd anniversary of the Chinnaswamy stadium blast. We don’t know yet which terrorist group is responsible. Fortunately, there was only a small crowd... as ticket distribution for the upcoming assembly elections was over on Tuesday. The terrorists were looking for a spot that would result in maximum casualty,” an official said. On April 17, 2010 two bomb blasts at the Chinnaswamy stadium left 15 people injured.
