JD(U) chief slams JPC report leakage

JD(U)president and NDA convener Sharad Yadav on Friday finally broke his silence over the leaked draft JPC report on the 2G scam, which gives the PM a clean chit, and said it “was most unfortunate”.

“The report has been classified as ‘top secret’. Yet, it seems that the leak has happened from JPC chairman P C Chacko’s office. This is extremely unfortunate. We will raise the issue at the April 25 meeting of the JPC,” he said. He, however, chose not to raise the issue of the panel’s findings regarding the Prime Minister’s role.

Incidentally, Bihar, which is ruled by a JD(U)-BJP coalition government, was promised a  `12,000 crore Central assistance on Thursday. Meanwhile, a JD(U) leader close to Sharad, said that “not much should be read into  the statement” and that “he may issue a detailed statement at a later date”, when it was pointed out to him that the the JD(U) stand was in stark contrast to that of the BJP.
