Opposition showing UPA in bad light: Sonia Gandhi

Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Monday lashed out at the Opposition for “propagating negative impression” about the UPA Government.

At the alumni meet of the National Students’ Union of India, Sonia asked the foot-soldiers of her party to actively counter what she felt was an Opposition propaganda against the Congress-led government at the Centre.

Though she was reiterating views that she had earlier expressed at the Congress Parliamentary Party meeting, Sonia was at her belligerent best on Monday.

“What have you or your party done to change things in our country. I have no doubt that they have no credible answer,” she said.

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi attended the meeting and was lauded by Sonia for reviving and revamping the youth wings of the party. She exhorted the students ‘to communicate with the people regarding the  achievements of the Congress since Independence’. It seems we have not been fully able to communicate the great transformation that has taken place, she said. ENS
