Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh’s sister Dalbir Kaur, who has been demanding that her brother be brought back for treatment, was highly critical of Pakistan’s refusal to send him back.
“Sarabjit is being made a scapegoat because of political compulsions in Pakistan,” she told media representatives in Lahore.Meanwhile, a Pakistani lawyer has reportedly filed a petition before the Supreme Court to send Sarabjit to the United Kingdom for medical treatment.In another development, former judges A S Gill and M A Khan of the joint judicial committee, currently in Pakistan on a scheduled visit, have asked for access to Sarabjit.In Delhi, the BJP said the government should have acted well ahead of time to put pressure on Pakistan for extra security to Sarabjit, after receiving threats.
