Pawar for early T-decision

Maintaining that delay in the decision on Telangana would be harmful to the Centre, Union Agriculture Minister and NCP supremo Sharad Pawar on Thursday called for an early decision on the issue.

After a discussion with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Pawar said that he was expecting a meeting of the UPA coordination committee to be held soon to discuss the issue.

Pawar said that the NCP, a key ally of the UPA, has been supportive of a separate Telangana state for long and had held a rally with Telangana Rashtra Samithi President K Chandrasekhar Rao few years ago.

“I discussed the Telangana issue with the Prime Minister. The question is of timing. We want Telangana as early as possible. A delay will not be helpful to us,” he said.
