Apprehending tension on BasantPanchami at Dhar district headquarters, the police todaydetained two persons including a former RSS pracharak NawalKishore Sharma as part of preventive measure.
A country-made pistol along with one cartridge have beenseized from Sharma, Additional Superintendent of Police, Dhar,Bitto Sehgal said, adding that he was later shifted to M YHospital here.
The former pracharak was detained by Dhar police, whileeleven others have been arrested on charges of spreadingtension in the wake of Bhojshala issue in 2006, when BasantPanchami had coincided with Friday namaz, police said.
Another saffron leader Harsh Sharma, who is a close aideof Nawal Kishore Sharma, has also been detained, they saidsaid.
On February 15, Basant Panchami and Friday coincide,and Hindu outfits have been against Muslims to holding namazat the Bhojshala.
