2G case: CBI sends tape to CFSL

The CBI has sent a CD containing conversation allegedly between 2G scam accused United MD Sanjay Chandra and CBI prosecutor A K Singh to the Central Forensic Science Lab (CFSL).

The CD sent from an anonymous source to the CBI on February 6 has allegedly stored the audio of Singh and Chandra discussing the case. Following this, the investigating agency removed the prosecutor from the case.

Meanwhile, the CBI has sought information from its own team members involved in 2G scam probe, to ascertain whether Singh advised them to hide any information of court hearings. The investigating agency suspects corporate rivalry in the CD leak. CBI director Ranjit Sinha has appointed a team to assess  the damage caused by Singh’s sharing info with the accused.
