MHA meet on anti-naxal operations today

The Ministry of Home Affairs has convened a meeting of the DGPs and Chief Secretaries of Naxal-affected states on Wednesday to review ongoing anti-naxal offensives, operational capabilities of forces and development work in red-dominated areas.

Officials from Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh are likely to attend the meeting.

The meeting would discuss the co-ordination among state police forces and Central paramilitary forces to decide the future strategy to counter the Naxal menace. “It will also review operational, infrastructural and welfare-related development programmes carried out in Naxal-hit districts and changes required in the present system,” sources added.
