The BJP on Thursday described the President’s address to Parliament as a damp squib, saying that it didn’t address the challenges the country faces.
“This may be the last formal Presidential address of this government. Yet, unfortunately the speech was a grocery list. There is nothing about any strategy, for instance, on how the government plans to make the economy look up,” BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said.
“The Presidential address to Parliament is totally disappointing, directionless, and uninspiring. It did not address the challenges faced by the country -- be it the massive corruption, unabated price rise, agricultural crisis, farmers’ suicides, growing unemployment etc. The government could not give any roadmap to tackle any of these issues,” former BJP president M Venkaiah Naidu earlier said.
