An unclaimed bag found near the Army Hospital in Delhi Cantonment area led to a bomb scare here on Monday evening. The Delhi Police bomb disposal squad reached the spot and found that the bag contained some electronic equipment.

Security was put on high alert and the police cordoned off the Cantonment area. The bombsquad of the Army too was pressed into service. The bag has been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for necessary tests.

The incident caused panic among the people which led to rumour-mongering. Another unclaimed bag kept on a motorcycle in Greater Kailash market of South Delhi led to a bomb scare. But it died down as the owner of the bag picked it up. The police questioned, checked the bag and concluded that it was a false scare.
