Union minister Abu Hashem Khan Chowdhury on Sunday flayed the Trinamool Congress for holding the Congress responsible for bomb explosions near the venue of a TMC panchayat poll meeting, near here, last night.

Chowdhury, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, said the TMC was now viewing Congress as its main enemy, rather than the CPI-M.

He derided two state ministers Sabitri Chowdhury and Krishnendu Chowdhury, who were present in the meeting, for making the false allegation and said his part was in no way involved in the bomb explosions.

Chowdhury, also the Malda district Congress president, met the district SP Kalyan Mukherjee and told him of his party's no role in the blasts.

The explosions occurred a little distance away from the meeting venue at Chandrapara in the Chanchal sub-division of Malda district last evening.
