The Special CBI court on Tuesday dropped two sections from the fifth chargesheet filed by the CBI against Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in disproportionate assets case.

It refused to apply criminal breach of trust (Section 409 of IPC) and Section 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act to Reddy.

The agency named Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy as the fourth accused in the fifth chargesheet that was filed on April 8.

The first three accused are Jaganmohan Reddy, V Vijay Sai Reddy and Dalmia Cements managing director Puneet Dalmia. They were charged under Sections 120(B) read with 420 and 409 of IPC and Sections 9 and 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988.

The CBI said when Sabita was Minister for Mines and Geology in the Y S Rajasekhara Reddy Cabinet, she misused office to grant limestone mining lease to Dalmia Cements for a period of 30 years. In return, Dalmia Cements invested `95 crore in Jagan’s companies.
