Siddaramaiah to pick leaders with ‘clean image’

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday said that leaders with “a clean image” will be his priority when he forms his Cabinet in the next few days. He met Congress president Sonia Gandhi and is learnt to have apprised her about Cabinet formation.

Later in the day, he held two rounds of talks with Madhusudan Mistry and State party unit chief G Parmeshwar on the cabinet, which is likely to be expanded in two phases. In the first phase, he might induct 22-23 members. The maximum permissible size of the Karnataka cabinet is 32. “I cannot comment on any issue right now. I will form the Cabinet within two-three days with people having clean image. I will talk to you then,” Siddaramaiah said.

The CM also met President Pranab Mukherjee. He is slated to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Thursday.
