The two-month-old episode surrounding Sanjay Dutt serving remaining of his conviction came to an end on Thursday, as he turned up before the special TADA court in Mumbai.

Sporting a white kurta, jeans and a red tilak on his forehead Sanjay arrived at the TADA court in car accompanied by his wife Manyata, sister and Congress MP Priya Dutt brother-in-law Kumar Gaurav. Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt had also joined Sanjay’s family members in the journey to the court.

Sanjay’s 500-metre walk from the police barricade to the entrance of Arthur Road prison where special TADA court is located was made difficult by the crowd.

Making slow progress, Sanjay had to request the media personnel with folded hands to let him pass. After the formalities in the court, he would be lodged in the Arthur Road prison and subsequently in a day or two he would be taken to the jail where he would be spending 42 months of his sentence.  He is likely to be lodged at the Yerwada prison.
